CU 500 Backlight Control??

I was wondering if anyone has found a way to get a little better control over the backlight on the CU500 than what is available through the phone's menu.

My particular concern is using eBook readers on the phone...I like to use autoscroll when I read, but this doesn't work well when the backlight kicks off after 30 seconds necessitating a button press.

I'm currently using TequilaCat's eBook reader, which seems to be excellent software...except for the backlight controls. Any time I attempt to use the software backlight controls, the backlight goes to either a rapid on/off cycle or permanently off. I have to power cycle the phone to get the backlight back, and remove and reinstall the book file I was in at the time of backlight control activation.

Anyone gotten anywhere with this?

Thanks,

Dan

Press 277634#*# to take you to the "Phone Test Mode". Go to Device Test, and LED. There is a function to leave the backlight on, but you have to go change it back via the menus.

BigBlue, you are my HERO!! Thank you thank you thank you. Now all I have to do is remember to re-set the backlight to time out after I'm done reading...it just won't do to have a dead e-book reader when I need to make a call!

Thanks again,

Mainiak Dan
