Upload limit of Junction?

Hi, I use Junction to upload jars to my U8360. However I noticed there's a limit of about 500KB, above which it tells me that the jar may be corrupted (which it's not).
Is there a size limit in Junction, or is it my phone? ("3" support tells me there's no limit to jar file sizes)
Thanks, John

Hi John,

There is a hard limit within Junction on Jar files and Jad files. The Limit is 1,500,000 bytes for jar files (~1.43 MB) and 8192 bytes for Jad files (8k).

A 500k Jar file should be fine, Junction has been used with files close to the hard limit without trouble. If you could tell me the exact error Junction is giving you then I could better understand where the error is generated.

You may like to try uploading something different that is about the same size and see if the problem is related to the Jar file itself.

re Upload limit of Junction?

Hi Ryan
I'm getting the following message-
"Junction Error: Missing a JAR, JAD, or MNF. Is the Game damaged?
Please try again"

I'm trying to upload a couple of items that are about 1.8MB in size, eg
MSDict Pocket Oxford English Dictionary (Java) / free download

Is the 'hard limit' of 1.5MB simply hard coded or is there a more fundamental constraint? Can it be lifted to 2MB?
Thanks,
John

Hmm... dunno where I imagined the 500k limit from; I just uploaded a 700k file successfully! But anyway, would still be good to extend the limit to 2MB. Thanks.

The 1.5MB limit is just something I coded in to make sure massive files wern't uploaded. I see no problem in extending the limit to 2.0MB so you should now be able to install that dictionary without error.

If anyone can find a cool java game/application to upload that is over 2.0MB I will be happy to lift it a bit further.
