Installing games on the LG KG800 Chocolate phone

Java games can be installed on the LG KG800 chocolate phone using:

* GThing
* DirectWebInstall
* GThing Junction
* The software that came with your phone (LG Contents Bank)

In order to use LG Contents Bank to upload games you must follow these steps:
edit config.ini on the LG Contents Bank directory to change
EXIST_JAVA=N
to
EXIST_JAVA=Y

Next, you must copy a jar and jad file containing the game you want to upload into a sub folder in the Contents Bank directory called "Contents\Java"

You MUST edit the jad file with notepad or similar text editor to add this line of text to the end of the file:

MIDletX-LG-Contents: KG800

You should then use LG Contents Bank to upload the game you have placed in the correct directory.

Good Luck with that!

Ryan.

Hi Joanne,

Welcome to the game-thing.com forums.

I have attached a series of pictures to show which files need to be edited, where the games need to be put so they can be installed, and what needs to go into the JAD file.

If that fails, try Junction, its probably easier and provides more functionality.

Ryan

Make sure you add:
MIDletX-LG-Contents: KG800
to the JAD file if you are using the "LG Contents Bank" method otherwise you phone will not think the game is from LG.

All other listed methods don't need this step.

Hi, when I click connect in contents bank, it first lets me select port and baud rate, I choose LG USB cable (com3) and 115200, and then nothing happens, and then I click connect again and it says "Initializing.. please wait". Can some one please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
