An upload method has been found after some investigation. Its not ideal and quite dangerous but some of you may want to try it. Check the LG U8210 Java upload thread:
http://game-thing.com/bb/lg-u8210/60-lg-u8210-uploading-java-games.html

We are working on getting GThing working with the LG U8210 now and have made some good progress. There are a few issues that we need to sort out so we don't expect GThing support to be finished for a little while still.

Hi ,

Just to say you that QPST not working on my LG u8210 Orange fr (see my phone but efs explorer not see my files) , but , Bitpim works fine on it with the same method , there is just a little difference : i don't have to create the directory :"GameName.XX" in the folder /LGAPP/Media/Java/ui

I don't know if that can help you.
Thanks for your hard works.
Bye.

It works

i've tried the ryan method on a lg 8210 from the Spanish operator Movistar.
I've done it all as he says, but at first, you have to put the mobile drivers and to configure the port connection of the qpst (you have to run one program as the file explorer, its in the same folder, for me it was the com 4 (an usb, althout it says something about serial).

It's great to heard about others programs, i'll try that bitpim on linux. How do you find it?

Thanks a lot

Bitpim works for exploring the filesystem.. great news and a good find.

Welcome to BitPim

I have had a little time to sit down and tinker with the LG U8210 and it looks like both GThing and Junction are going to work soonish.

Hi Guys,

Junction now supports the LG U8210.

A new version of GThing will also be released in the next couple of days after I can get all the tools updated and working on the U8210.

I would like to put a special thanks to zirogirls who has provided many data logs which eventually lead to GThing and Junction supporting the LG U8210.

Upload away!

Ok, I have been looking at both programs and when the tree of the telephone works in the alone bitpim, both programs are equal, nevertheless it is not possible to erase of the pitpim files.

In essence, very similar.

Hello !,

GthingTest not working for me :

Model: U8210
Version:
Directories: Images:Sounds:Videos:External memory
Images:
Videos:
Audios:
Java:
Installing Java Game...

then phone turn off immediately , then i go to java menu but no new game installed.

I've got 21 games on my phone actually (upload by wap and bitpim), maybe the destination slot of sample game is already in use.

Junction no work for me too :

Junction Error: Required information missing (IMEI, Phone Model)
Please try again
Retrieving mobile information...

i try again more than 10 times but still same error message.
I 'don't know if i have to delete all my games (I still have space on memory phone) to let GtingTest do his job?

Hmm, looks like something is not working.

If you could send me your log.htm produced by GThingTest I could see whats going on. I'll check my U8210 is still working but I am sure it was.

Okay, sorted that out.

Looks like I updated GThingTest to a much older version be accident. It should now work.

As for Junction, that error looks like the one you get when the game-thing.com certificate hasn't been installed, have you done this?

If you have purchased a copy for an IMEI then you can just download the latest version, there is no need to re-purchase it.

I will have a look into Junction and see what could be causing your problem.
