QPST 2.7 build 215 and EFS File Explorer
Has anyone been able to get the QPST EFS File Explorer working on either the U880, U890, U900, or U8500?
I have tried QPST 2.7 build 215
I always get the "EFS file system is not supported on this phone" or something to that effect.
Having a working EFS file system explorer would be a good step forward in supporting these mobiles in GThing and related services.

Hi Ryan.
Read about your expierence with QPST 2.7.
I fond the newer version of it on the net.
Here it is: QPST 2.7 build 231
I don`t have any time to try it myself
Hope it`ll help you.
Good luck.
PS: Searched a little in the google and found smth interesting.
This "thing" must make QPST work with LG phones properly.
But i didn`t check it

Hmm,
I have not had much luck with either QPST versions and the QPST enabler is for certain other LG mobiles.
If anybody gets any EFS explorer working with a LG U890, LG U8500, or LG U900 then let me know.

Hi all.
QPST works fine with LG U8500. I have done it. Only You must connect your phone with a USB cable, and add a correct port with QPST Configuration (U8500 appears like SURFXXXX). Then you run EFS Explorer and you have access to all file system.
I have changed the gif animated when you turn on & turn off the phone, sms tones, java games...
You would use this version, i'm using it (I had problems with other versions):
RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting
If you want more info, mail me.
Bye!

Thanks for trying that guys.
I had never been able to get the QPST EFS Explorer to work on my U880 and at some stage somebody had also said that the U8500 did not work.
This changes things a bit. I will put a new GThingTest up in a bit to check and see if I can get something working.

Hi Roseangel!
It's easy, go to "QPST Configuration" then go to "Ports" and clic "Add new Port" and check all USB ports. For me it was USB7.

what you only have to do is what Francis wrote about QPST Configuration.
When you'll do that, you would see something like the following:

(Perhaps you will have other ports)
Then, you have to run QPST Explorer and it detect your phone (SURF6250....)
Good luck!

Hi Francis, Well thanks for information I did eventually work out how to connect my phone. However... When I try to load games onto phone it just doesnt work. I am seeing them in the Java menu when the qpst is up... (kind of like your picture) but when I disconnect and try to find on phone, they just arent there
How do I actually load them onto the qpst explorer page?
You seem to have jad, jar and png files in the menu but my games just seem have jar files. what am I doing wrong?
and how did you change to gif? I dont know where to put the gif files... actually i dont seem to understand any of it.. lol
I looked in the help menu but that just doesnt help me.
Can you ?

Hmm, I wonder what the difference is.
If somebody that has got QPST EFS Explorer working could use USB monitor on their mobile while using QPST then getting GThing and junction to work with the U8500 'should' be a snap.
HTML export of a usb log is most useful.

I got this to work with my u8500, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I was wondering how i could transfer files to my mobile :P
Just a small question about java games, How do they work.. Like what type of files are needed each game. I have found a few games on the net for mobiles but they dont appear on the phone.
Do you guys know any sites that have LG games that would work on an u8500 ?
Thanks

You must do the following:
1)Rename all .jar like 00.jar, 01.jar, 02, jar... (You can install games until 63.jar)
2)Create .jad files (I use JADMaker, but you can use anyone)
3)Delete content.info that you can find inte the LGAPP/media/java/ams.
4)Drag'n'drop the .jar and .jad files into the folder .../java/ams
5)Check that files are in order. (One folder with 00.jar 00.jad, 03.jar 03.jad. will be wrong, it must be 00.jar 00.jad, 01.jar 01.jad, 02.jar, 02.jad, ...)
6)If you want save games & configurations you must create a folder with same name that every game (00, 01, 02, 03, ...).
7)In the phone, when you enter in java folder to see installed games, it will create a new content.info file.
It is a bit messy... , but now it is unique way to install java in u8500. Hurry up Ryan about u8500 support!!
I download java games here--> Juegos K750i

Hi Jamon,
After seeing that some people could get EFS explorer to work I had suspected that the method that you are using would work.
Care to take a USB log?
GThing and junction support would be almost done if I could get a log of somebody uploading any file use EFS explorer

Thanks for that log francis.
That may be enough to get something working. I can already see why the current GThingTest doesn't work so thats a start.

Ok so if you need something else, write me on this post.
I can test GthingTest with USB Monitor when a new version will be released.

I could really use a log from EFS Explorer that includes:
Uploading a file
Deleting a file
Creating a directory
Deleting a directory
From the logs people have sent I have been able to get these:
Listing a directory
Downloading a file
HTML export of the log is most important. Saving the logging session isn't as much help.
Making some good progress on this!

Hi!
I tried the QPST program. I can connect to my phone via com15 port. (Surfxxx...)
But the EFS explorer says that my phone doesn't support EFS. ):
I have an LG l600v from Vodafone.
Really the phone doesn't support EFS, or vodafone blocked this function among others?
Please write down here if I could make sg for EFS support. (Flashing, unlocking, ect.)

The EFS is a hardware or a software protocol?
So I put a new firmware onto my phone, will it possible to support EFS?
Thanks.
(BitPin also doesn't works ): )

Hi everyone.
I have tryed this metod and it really worked. When i was in games on the phone, i saw the game in there with the mini logo in the side and all, but then happened one thing. I tryed to open it (on the phone) and it says that it isn't executable and just apears the Java logo. Why this happens? I have a feeling that is because i havn't created the folder with the game name in this case 02, but in here is another trouble, i cant create folders in the EFS Explorer and it doesn't aloud me to pass one from the desktop.
Any ideas?
By the way is the U8500, if that help in anything.
