15,000+ downloads plus new GThing features!

Greetings all,

It's been a while since I checked out the junction statistics, and I can now tell you that more than 15,000 games have been installed directly on to mobile phones using junction.

This is a phenomenal effort guys and I am sure the 100k mark will come soon, particularly with new phones being supported. I am talking about the LG U8500 here. This phone resisted installation of games for a long time but finally broke down in late February and I can now reliably install games onto the LG U8500. Expect a new version of GThing in the coming days.

I did promise some new features so here we go. With the next release of GThing a "Gold" version will also be released that includes some less sought after features that people have asked me for over the years. These features include:

• Reading and Writing of SMS messages including sounds, images, and text markup
• Reading and Writing of EMail messages
• Exporting MMS's to your computer for viewing later. Ideal for those memorable MMS messages people send you
• Contact list support with editing, exporting, and importing from various formats.
• Downloading web pages using your computer and storing them on your phone for viewing later. Download the days news in the morning using your home internet connection then read it on your phone while on the bus/train for free!

All of these features are working almost perfectly on a subset of the supported mobiles so hopefully by release time all supported mobiles will also work with the GThing "Gold" version. I expect that the gold version will be offered at a slightly higher price than the standard version given the huge extra effort required to get these new features working on supported mobiles.

Keep those junction downloads going and I will keep supporting new mobiles and keep improving GThing!
