These instructions are to help you to get junction and directWebInstall working so that you may install java games on your mobile.

Junction and directWebInstall may work on other mobiles, check the junction forum for discussion on other mobiles.

You need to download the game-thing.com certificate. You should Open this certificate and choose the Install Certificate... option.

The default options during the certificate installation procudure are adequate, you can simply press Next -> for each step. You will also be required to confirm the installation of the certificate at the end of the process.

Installing this certificate allows your computer to trust game-thing.com to have access to your mobile phone to install java games. Normal web pages cannot access yor mobile, with this certificate installed, game-thing.com web pages can access your mobile. You can always remove this certificate if you wish by opening Internet Explorer and choosing the Tools->Internet Options->Content->Certificates.... Then select Trusted Root Certification Authorities, find the game-thing.com certificate in the list of certificates and click Remove.

• LG GSM mobiles need to be set to Modem Mode before connecting the mobile to your computer
• Some LG 3G mobiles need to have their modem set to use USB instead of bluetooth
• Motorola phones need their java AppLoader enabled and active before connecting to the computer. For details, see below.

Warning! Junction module not detected Have you trusted game-thing.com? Is there a yellow bar at the top of this page that requires attention to enable junction?.

To enabled the java AppLoader on Motorola phones, firstly download the P2K Drivers, install the game-thing.com certificate, and then activate P2K Mode. This will allow you to install the drivers you have just downloaded.

Once you have installed the drivers, disconnect your phone and reconnect it and then enable the Motorola AppLoader.

You should now disconnect your phone, turn it off and on again, go to the settings->Java settings menu in your phone and see the AppLoader, select this option and connect your phone to your computer. This last step should be repeated before you connect your phone when using junction or directWebInstall.

To use directWebInstall, simply locate the game or application you want int the mobile game directory. When you have found the game you want, simply perform any pre-connection configuration listed in the previous section, connect you mobile to your computer, and click on the Install on my phone link. The download should continue by itself until it completes.

To use junction, select a JAR file from your computer using the Jar File section. Next perform any pre-connection configuration listed in the previous section, connect you mobile to your computer, and click on the Upload Game to my Phone button. The upload should complete by itself. If you want to install another game, click on the Install another game? link to reset junction ready for your next game.

If you phone fails to upload or fails to connect, try GThingTest with your LG phone, GThingTest is not supported on any other mobiles. If GThingTest works then there could be a problem with either your web browser configuration, or junction/directWebInstall.

The advanced options in junction allow games to have access to the entire mobile screen on LG GSM mobiles, restrict the screen size to 176x220 for larger screen mobiles, or avoid installing the nokia emulator if junction detects that it is required.

A few tips from users that had problems and fixed them

• Try disabling your firewall. junction needs to access the internet to work properly
• Try uploading a different game. The one you are trying may be damaged

If your phone is in the supported list and not working for you then there is a problem which can be easily fixed. If your phone is not in the supported list then you should try GThingTest and email the results to us.

If all else fails, you can always read the junction forum or post a question about your specific problem there.

If GThingTest works for your mobile then GThing would work without the problems junction has.
